If garlic is placed inside the environment of growing k-12 E.coli bacteria then it will have the largest zone of inhibition and the bacterial growth in the plate will be the least. This is because of garlic containing allicin which is a strong antibiotic found in chopped garlic.
Independant Variable: The Natural Remedies Dependant Variable: The area of the zone of inhibition and the size and number of the colonies of bacteria in the plate Variables we are attempting to control: The amount of e.coli inoculated on each plate, the temperature of incubation, depth of agar, concentration of natural remedy solution, amount of time petri dishes are exposed to the air and other contaminants, the size of the coffee filter circle and amount of natural remedy absorbed by the coffee filter and the placement of the coffee filters inside the petri dish. |
